Forensic Psychiatric - Psychologist Assistant

In this position duties include:

  • administering and score self-report inventories, neurological screening batteries and tests using standardized administration procedures and objective scoring procedures;
  • providing the Forensic Psychologist with verbal and/or written descriptions of the client's behaviour during testing;
  • administering specialized forensic assessment measures as directed by the Forensic Psychologist to assist with assessing risk and treatment needs of an individual currently subject to criminal justice proceedings; and
  • preparing and maintaining a variety of records, reports and charts according to established procedures by documenting test results. This involves clearly noting any observations on the clients behaviour.

Spotlight Requirements

  • Recognized training and/or experience in administering a wide range of psychodiagnostic tests.
  • Specialized academic course work in forensic psychology including risk assessment and risk management for specific areas of offending (i.e-sexual assault, spousal assault and violence).
  • General knowledge at the undergraduate level on psychosocial testing and psychopathology especially in the context of the criminal justice system.
